Dr. Jessica Stewart is a clinical and school psychologist, currently practicing in an N-12 private school and in private practice. Her experience includes providing individual, family, and group intervention in a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, medical settings, and schools. Dr. Stewart also provides consultation to school districts and medical professionals. She has presented to state and national audiences and has authored a number of articles and chapters and is co-editor of the Handbook of Cognitive-Behavioral Group Therapy with Children and Adolescents.

The workshop will start with a brief overview of the cognitive-behavioral conceptualization of anxiety (to serve as a refresher for those familiar with general CBT, using the context specific to anxiety disorders). Within this portion, we'll touch on some of the specific targets for treatment of different anxiety disorders, though the majority of discussion will center around anxiety in a generalized sense. We'll explore a number of classic cognitive and behavioral strategies, using case examples to highlight when the focus should be more in one domain than the other and the connection between them.  I'll provide concrete interventions and share some "go to" resources for additional tools. Finally, we'll open up the discussion for case consultation, whereby I will facilitate the collective wisdom of the group offering thoughts and strategies to one another for implementation with students the next week.
