Join a School Psychologist Virtual PLC

Western MA Chapter Facilitated

As the summer progresses and plans are being made for the fall, school psychologists have a range of questions and concerns. As we prepare for the fall, it would be helpful to have a community of our peers to share those concerns and develop some ideas to help us prepare for the start of the year. The Western MA chapter members would like to welcome you to an opportunity to address specific issues and concerns and share strategies in preparation for the fall.

The format will be a series of four virtual 1.5 hour meetings, with a focus for the first hour of each meeting. The focus will be determined by a survey included as part of the registration. Current topics being considered are: Remote Evaluations, Special Education Referrals Due to Closure, Emotional/Trauma Support, Backlog of Assessments, Involvement in District Planning, and Validity of Assessments/Data Collection. The last half hour of each meeting will involve sharing concerns, stories, and insights with each other. The survey also allows for feedback regarding other times of the week/day that might work better for you. Depending on participant interest this PLC may continue into the fall.

Participants will be able to:

  • Develop a personal plan for addressing issues of professional concern upon returning in the fall.
  • Advocate for their position/plan with district personnel.
  • Connect with other practitioners to discuss professional concerns and problem solve.

This webinar is FREE for MSPA members, to support our community during this unprecedented time.

Non-members (school psychologists and practitioners from related fields) are welcome to register as well for a nominal fee.

Join MSPA to access all MSPA member benefits! Full, Transitional (first 3 years of practice) and Associate memberships (for non-school psychologists or practitioners from related fields) is available to support your professional needs.

6 PDPs available to individuals who attend all four sessions.
